TxDOT: 11 percent of state’s fatalities happen in Permian Basin
Although only 2 percent of Texans live in the Permian Basin, 11 percent of all traffic fatalities occurred there in 2017, according to a report from the Texas Department of Transportation.
This corresponds to 405 fatalities out of 3,721 total across the state.
