PRSC Supports Unified Transportation Plan

The Permian Road Safety Coalition has expressed its support for the 2025 Unified Transportation Plan, particularly for the safety funding provided in Categories 8 and 11 and the energy sector funding provided in Category 11.

“The Permian Basin is the cornerstone of America’s energy industry,” Executive Director Ellen Ramsey writes in a letter to the Texas Transportation Commission. “Along with the region’s economic prosperity, we face a critical infrastructure challenge: maintaining safe roads with rapid growth and increased traffic. Unfortunately, the Permian Basin has the highest number of fatal roadway accidents in Texas.

“Investing in and improving Permian Basin roads is a necessity for the safety of our residents, commuters, and industry workers in the region, and for continued regional development. TxDOT’s Permian Promise has resulted in significant improvements in our area, and we support its continuance.”
